Artist Statement

The media so often overwhelms us with gloom and fear, being a positive person in this world feels like an act of rebellion. It’s important for me to have some kind of magic and optimism in my paintings(honestly, in everything I do). I choose to look for the silver lining. Not because life is simple or I’m so naïve, but because optimism is a deliberate choice. It’s a practice.

My art is a reminder to myself, and hopefully to you, that life is full of beauty and color, and it’s so easy to miss if you’re not really looking.
